Zanny Minton Beddoes is the 17th and 1st female Editor-in-chief of The Economist. She is the recipient of two prestigious Gerald Loeb Awards for excellence in journalism award; “one of the most powerful women in the world,” says Forbes, and a regular on CNN’s Fareed Zakaria GPS. Previously, she was the business affairs editor, responsible for the newspaper’s coverage of business, finance and science. Ms. Minton Beddoes has also served as the economics editor, overseeing the newspaper’s global economics coverage from her base in Washington DC. She is a regular television and radio commentator on BBC, MSNBC, PBS, NPR, CNN and CNBC.
